Parents play an important part in preventing that their kids start drinking or smoking before the age of 18. A recent study shows that the majority of the parents support the agreement behind ‘NIX’, however only one third of them actually makes agreements an agreement about smoking and drinking.

Misconceptions stand in the way of making and maintaining the agreements. Many parents underestimate the influence they have on their child and think that they cannot set rules for their child if they smoke and drink themselves.The campaign has a casual tone and again uses typical parent-child moments. The central theme throughout the campaign is that adolescents almost never do what parents ask of them. Luckily they act a lot more exemplary outside the house. In this way parents are encouraged to keep up the NIX agreement. Because even though it doesn’t always seem that way, making agreements helps.
